About me

Lives & works in Oxford, UK

I am a contemporary artist and designer maker, experimenting with domestic rubbish and waste packaging. Currently my main focus is on using plastic waste to make unconventional textile pieces and other works of art.

Transforming and recycling waste packaging into art is of particular importance, highlighting the amount of waste we create, whilst also demonstrating how waste materials can potentially be transformed into other products.

Hand intensive techniques such as cutting and stitching are used to add interest and embellishment to these alternative materials. My most recent work includes wall hangings, quilts, books and other unconventional art objects.

Artist Statement

I am interested in colourful textiles, tapestries and other stitched works.  I enjoy creating alternative textiles and artworks through my exploration of found and recycled materials, especially rubbish!

Designs and ideas are generated through observation of the environment, noting colours, shapes and patterns occurring in both nature and architecture.

My ideas are developed through experimentation and transformation of the materials. Decorative cutting, stitching and hand embroidery are utilised to embellish the work, and to create original and unconventional works of art.
